There are different ways to join FBC Jonesboro:
Commit your life to Jesus Christ | This means that you have already received or that you want to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior.
Joining Our Church by Baptism | You can join by being baptized if you're making your profession of faith as a new Christian or if you're coming from a church of another denomination whose view of Baptism is different from the New Testament Baptism (full body immersion) as traditionally practiced by Southern Baptists.
Transfer membership from another Baptist Church | If you're currently a member of another Southern Baptist Church, you can transfer your membership to FBC Jonesboro by Letter after visiting with a minister on Sunday morning during our 'time of invitation' at the end of our worship service.
Join from another denomination | If you have previously accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and have been baptized by immersion as an act of obedience into a church whose view of baptism is that of Southern Baptist, then you can transfer your membership to FBC Jonesboro by Statement after visiting with a minister on Sunday morning during our 'time of invitation' at the end of our worship service.
Watchcare | This is a relationship to the church provided for those who are in our community for a brief period of time or who do not wish to break ties with another church. (**Many University students find this to be a good option for them while they are away from their home churches and attending a local university.)
*Children | When children are ready to make a "Decision" they may come forward during the invitation at the end of a service where they will be greeted by a minister. Then, parents are instructed concerning the next step based upon the child's age, experience and need. Please talk with our Children's Pastor if you have questions. There is a New Christian's Class that will provide age-appropriate answers for your child. The class can be taken before or after a "profession of faith" has been made.
Why Join?
- Joining is a public statement that we are your church family
- Most find that following a decision with action strengthens their commitment
- Becoming a member is your way of acknowledging that this is where God has called you to serve and grow
- As a member, you will receive information that will keep you up-to-date with all that is happening in the life of our people
At the end of our services there is a "time of invitation" when you can make your decision known publicly. If you have any questions about your decision, please contact us. Our church offices are open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and we would be happy to talk with you. (870-932-3456)
